AUBURN | After missing Wednesday night’s game against Georgia with a concussion, Tyler Harris could return for Saturday’s game at Alabama.

“I'd say Tyler's likely, maybe probable. He expects to practice today,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. “Now, if he has any symptoms, and he could, then there's a chance he won't play tomorrow. He's not on for tomorrow but he's on for practice today underneath that same protocol.

“So if he can get through some running and some pounding, and he did a little bit yesterday so we'll see how he does today, let's just say probable probably.”

Harris was hurt early in the second half of last Saturday’s game against Ole Miss when he took an elbow to his temple and fell hard on the floor.

“That was a pretty substantial hit and it wouldn't have surprised me if he was out longer than this,” Pearl said. “If we get him back Saturday it's probably sooner than I thought he would be able to get back.”

Auburn was able to upset the Bulldogs without Harris thanks to a career night from Jordon Granger, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and a solid performance from TJ Dunans, who had 12 points, four rebounds and seven assists in his second game back from a knee injury.

“Having T.J. Dunans back gives us a guard that can create, is a guy that instinctively makes others better because he’s a willing passer. He understands spacing and he’s got some abilities with his length to break the defense down,” Pearl said. “This timing of his return puts us in a position where we’re able to kind of conjure up more competitiveness. How many victories that leads to? I don’t know, but it was good enough to beat Georgia at home.”

Granger played the four against Georgia and could see more playing time at that position against the Tide. Granger worked at the four position throughout preseason drills before moving to the three after Tahj Shamsid-Deen suffered a shoulder injury.

“If we get Tyler back, I would say (Harris) and Horace would play inside. Jordon would get a rotation or two at the four where he may not have prior to how well he played at Georgia, so he could play both,” Pearl said.

Tip-off at Coleman Coliseum is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
