AUBURN | The latest addition to Auburn’s Signing Day haul is a future left tackle that’s ranked by Rivals as a four-star defensive end.

Prince Sammons from Hills Christian Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio committed to Auburn and sent in his signed NLI Wednesday morning, choosing the Tigers over Michigan State, Duke and Oregon. He had nearly 20 other offers.

The final decision for Sammons came down to the Tigers and Spartans. He visited Michigan State Jan. 22 and Auburn a week later.

Sammons, 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, has a strong relationship with offensive line coach Herb Hand, who was hired by Auburn from Penn State a few weeks ago. Hand first started recruiting Sammons for the Nittany Lions and that relationship continued at Auburn.

Rivals rates Sammons the nation’s No. 20 strongside defensive end.
